Shedding the Karmic Kalories
How to free yourself from karma
|
|
Karma is a deed or action which sets the entire cycle of cause and effect into motion. Today has resulted from past actions and tomorrow will be the result of today’s actions.
Most actions are based on reactions, very much like a mechanical response. Think and reflect for a moment and see what proportion of your actions or deeds are choices made from present moment awareness compared to merely following a set of habitual reactions? To answer this question, a good place to begin would be to look at our personal life and examine whether we live with conscious awareness or unconscious unawareness. If we live unconsciously, then perhaps the karmic wheel turns mechanically and we are trapped in the wheel. We continue to go in circles, unable to shed the karma due to deeply engrained memories where reactions become our habitual patterns. In such a habitual mode, how does one shed karma kalories?
Most of us are unaware of this hideous reality. Think for a moment, most human problems arise from the dichotomy we live in….
1. We fall into the trap of habitual patterns and
2. At the same time there is an inner knowing of the expansive greatness within.
The problems and frustrations exist because we have bought into a lie, whether we call that lie karma or the original sin. We cannot reduce human greatness to karmic helplessness. You and I have a choice in this moment to shed the lie of karmic calories and return to our expansive greatness.
The karmic wheel has been running our lives to the point where we have given our power to the interpretations, or should we say misinterpretations of religious concepts.
Obviously the fear of karma drives human motives. How much of what humans do is based out of fear vs. love? When did we begin to give our power over to the karmic law and forget the living greatness that breathes as you and me.

I grew up in India where karma was used as an excuse for everything. Each time I would hear people blame their misfortune on karma, I would personally feel disempowered. If there isn’t much we can do to get out of karmic debt other than pray out of fear, or seek a guru who supposedly can eliminate karmic calories, then there must be something wrong with being human. How can we be so helpless? Why would we want to pray out of fear, can these pundits or priests really pardon our sins, erase karmas and bring us closer to God? The sins or karmic reactions that stem from habitual ways of being… Now come on, who are we kidding? Most gurus, pundits and priests are also wrapped in their karmic habitual patterns.
I have spent many years pondering on the helpless karmic challenge… I have always looked at karmic debt as injustice to man/womankind.
There has to be a way out of karma without having the need to be saved from the karma God or fear of her.
There is light at the end of the karmic tunnel… One way to shed karma kalories is through a relationship with our expansive awareness. The law of karma applies to our mechanical self or the personality self, as it is programmed to habitually react in fear. However, the expansive self is the resting place, the center, the inner wisdom within us that lives and breathes love. The expansive self is what you experience when you are in the flow, at peace and in a place of joy.
The way to regain our relationship with the expansive self is through shedding the excess kalories of perceptions, beliefs, ideas and rules that have made the mental models fat. Begin to shed those kalories by reducing the intake of garbage thoughts and sit still until you begin to feel the joyous self within. That very joy is your living greatness, the expansive self, or may I be so bold to call it the living God. When you begin to see that loving God self within you, know that your karma kalories disappear and fear of karma evaporates. As love takes over fear, your prayers become sweet nothings witnessed by the dancing particles of the universe.
Pundits and priests cannot wipe your karma, the ever present love within you has the power to shed the karmic kalories.

Q: How do we know what emotion is predominant in our life?
A: From the time we are born, our environment, belief system, values, experiences, and influences from others create deeply embedded patterns in our subconscious mind. It is not uncommon for a person who believes that life is a struggle will always attract struggle in his/her life. If you are living with similar recordings from the past, my suggestion would be to create new recordings. Remember your life is a projection related to your internal programming. It is our responsibility to move beyond the conditioning and break away from the patterns to blossom to our unique self.

There is a law in psychology that if you form a picture in your mind of what you would like to be, and you keep and hold that picture there long enough, you will soon become exactly as you have been thinking.
